South Of The River
Lately there seems altogether too many reasons to cross the river, and this weekend is no exception. Hot boys, great parties, good friends, the rave cave… the treats South London has to offer are pretty epic. Don’t get me wrong, I proper love East London, but it’s far too easy to live in a little bubble and go to the same pubs, same nights, same parties and live the same life week in week out. BORING!
My only beef with going out down south is the inevitable traumatic-no-sleep bus journey back the next day. It’s always pretty horrific; you feel grimy from not having washed, you reek of club/party/smoke but at least the awfulness of it will ensure you go straight to sleep as soon as you head touches the pillow.
This weekend I’m mixing it up a little with both east and south excursions. Friday night sees the launch night of reopened Brixton club Plan B. Hot Chip are DJing, alongside Dalston favourites Disco Bloodbath, so it looks set to be a pretty good night. Check out the Plan B website for details of what they’re up to.
Then somehow, on Saturday, I’m going to drag my sorry arse back to the Bangladeshi Ghetto for a clean up, a nap and then to power on through. I hear talk of a party somewhere. Should be INTERESTING.
