Cosmic Adventures in Barcelona: Park Güell
As you may or may not know, I recently went on a long weekend to Barcelona with some of my pals. We had an amazing time, partying in underground jazz bars, staying up all night and dancing on the beach in the morning sunlight, eating delicious squid ink paella, drinking more sangria than necessary, cooing over all the mini animals along La Ramblas and doing an absolute shit load of sight seeing.
One of the things that really blew me away about Barcelona was the architecture. Yes, it’s a total Gaudi-fest but it’s all just incredible. Park Güell was one of my favourite Gaudi creations because it was other-worldly and gothic all at once. The park seemed to be split in sections which each had it’s own unique feel and atmosphere, which was greatly helped by the eclectic variety of buskers in each spot. I love the fact that the park was originally designed as a housing complex but in true Gaudi style, the plan was far too grand and quickly ran out of money. Wandering through the park, imagining that this is your home, is a wonderful thing to do. It takes you away from yourself and words can’t describe the peace you can feel in that park. It’s one of those times that you can marvel at the feats of man and the scope of one person’s imagination.
I took my Lomo Cosmic (also known as a Smena-8) with normal 35mm film and here are the ones which are my favourites…
